A little ‘palakhi’ and little ‘varkari’ carrying it

Today (17 Jul 2010) the little children at Dr.Ambedkar school took out a palakhi procession around the school. The children had come dressed up as ‘varakari’ (varakari are the people who walk along with the palakhi from Alandi to Pandharpur and back every year without fail. They dress up traditionally – dhoti, kurta for men and sarees for the women). Here are some photos.
